Happy Sunday! Below are a few photos of my home I snapped after hanging my new favorite addition to the house! Displaying a picture of Christ in our home has been something I've wanted to do since we moved in over a year ago. I finally found the perfect print and love seeing this right as we walk in the door.
photo because it shows one of the many miracles performed by Christ. It serves as a daily reminder of the miracles we've seen in our lives, specifically with Cal, and helps me to remember to honor Him in everything we do.

Who can spy cute baby feet in the picture above? :)
I think we can all agree that having a seasonal candle lit just completes the cozy feel of fall in the home. Now that the weather is cooling down, and we finally have our fall/halloween decorations out, there's almost nothing that makes us happier than coming home and lighting our favorite candle scent.
Our cute friend Dayna from The Gilded Wick sells some of the most delicious smelling candles on her Etsy shop. She recently sent us three of her amazing candles, and we all agreed that our favorite scent was her Vanilla Pumpkin (the three of us were honestly fighting over who got to keep that one - it smelled so good we wanted to eat it! haha). Scroll to the bottom of this post for a coupon code for 10% off!
The Gilded Wick has a line that uses only pure essential oils which is great for aromatherapy and the coconut soy wax, when melted, can be rubbed into your hands for an amazing moisturizer! To give you a little bit more info, here's what makes these candles so amazing:
- They are HAND poured with love in Southern California
- Scented with high quality Phthalate-free fragrance oils and the REFINED line is scented with high quality 100% essential oils.
- Eco-friendly, organic coconut soy wax.
- All natural, wooden wicks made with American wood.
- All product and packaging is grown and made in the U.S.A. and the essential oils are sourced from around the world.
Here are some yummy fall flavors from her pure essential oils line:
Sweet, citrusy, and spicy
Her other 4 holiday scents are not made with essential oils but include Frankincense and Myrrh:
WHAT IS COCONUT SOY WAX?
Coconut Soy wax is a blend of all natural organic coconut wax, soy wax, and other natural vegetable waxes. This wax burns cooler than other natural waxes, lending to longer burn times and a greater scent throw.
IS THE WAX WASHABLE?
Coconut soy wax is extremely easy to clean up using hot, soapy water if there is ever a spill. When you are finished using your candle you can reuse the glass for cocktails or whatever you may like! The wick should easily pop off of the bottom of the glass and the wax can be washed right down the sink!
These candles would make such cute Christmas gifts, or use the smaller candles in tin containers for stocking stuffers (yes, we are already thinking ahead to Christmas ;))

We hope everyone has had a great start to the new year! This year we want to go in a different direction from the usual cliche New Year's resolutions (not that they're bad AT ALL)....because sometimes setting goals to eat super healthy, promise to go to the gym 6 days a week, and spend less time on social media are just not super realistic, and can leave us feeling unaccomplished when we fall short.
We do have goals similar to the ones listed above, but this year we want to focus on just one in particular that we think is the recipe for true happiness, and something we really need to work on being better at.
This phrase actually came from our sister, the third Salty Blonde, who has inspired us in so many ways since she's been out serving the people of Indonesia. Read the email where she talked about this HERE.
We LOVE the phrase "turn out" and want to make it our motto and focus for 2015! What this means to us, is trying to spend less time turning our thoughts inward to ourselves. We want to avoid dwelling on our own problems, shortcomings, failures, and even our own successes! Also, wasting too much time comparing ourselves to others.
Instead, we want to try to turn our thoughts outward to others, thinking and noticing those around us, and the ways we can spread love and help others, even if it's in small ways. We know that to "turn out" our thoughts to others, and the good things around us, will help us forget our own problems and lead to a happier and more fulfilling, joyful life!
Hopefully this is something that we can become better at this year. We got a little crafty and made a cute reminder of this phrase to keep in our homes that we thought we'd share. We also asked one of our favorite Etsy shops, StoryBirdPrints, to make a cute printable with the phrase "turn out" that can be framed...find it HERE.
Here's how to make our mirrored version…
When the paint is dry, carefully peel off stickers and place mirror in a cute frame! (You can find a frame similar to the one we used here).
If you'd like us to make and send you one, we'd be happy to! Just shoot us an email at email@example.com
Thanks for reading and happy 2015!
We can't believe it's already almost Thanksgiving! Today we wanted to share a couple of our favorite holiday recipes, as well as a cute, DIY decor idea.
There are so many cute cards and paper products out there...and who doesn't love collecting cute stationary?! Well, this gives you an excuse to collect it for EVERY holiday ;) Framing cute cards you love, is a fun and easy decorating idea. This idea actually came from our grandmother, who saves and frames her favorite Christmas cards.
Throughout the year, collect cute cards or sayings, and then put them in frames around the house to decorate! Or, save your favorite cards you receive, because sometimes they are just too pretty to throw away ;) You can use this idea for any holiday.
Now...on to the recipes! These are both family favorites this time of year...Classic Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Bread, and Soft Ginger Cookies. SO yummy, and great for delivering to friends & family around the holiday season.
